SWOT analysis for using Podcasts in teaching and learning

Podcasts are a series of audio or video files which can be downloaded from internet. These can be downloads to iPhones or any smart mobile devices. These can be used by teachers to provide students with their lectures which can be heard or seen whenever they want. As soon as the teacher releases the next lecture, students can get it on their mobile device.
Strengths
- Can get RSS updates anywhere and anytime.
- Students can perform multi-tasking at the same time they are listening to the lecture.
- As the teacher will be creating and releasing the podcasts it promotes students engagement.
Weaknesses
- It won’t be same as listening in class.
- Problem for teachers to create and publish proper podcasts.
- Teachers won’t know how much students are engaging in the teachings.
Opportunities
- Can be used to listen, lectures when ever and where ever the students want to access them.
- Students can get updates, so then they can even prepare for the lecture even before attending it.
Threats
- Students may not attend all classes as the lectures are available as podcasts.
- Teachers cannot interact with students.
